Derawan, Sangalaki, Maratua Islands

Couple days ago I had a little conversation with the locals and I found the fact if Derawan and some islands around are connecting, 'they recognized each other' 

1. Derawan Comes from Indonesian word 'perawan' which means the virgin. So no wonder this island is the most popular among the rest 

2. Sangalaki Laki (Bahasa Indonesia) means 'A man' this island is the closest island from derawan 

3. Maratua Mertua : parent in law, if you realize Maratua has the finest place to stay. Just like another good son or daughter after they got married they make their parent to be happy with build a house or give some good things. 


Another one is Kakaban which comes from the word 'kakak' which means elder brother or sister, and also I just found if there's an island called 'sanggalau' I don't even know what the name comes from but I guest it comes from 'galau' (dilema) hhehe But whatever the meaning of those island, they are just so beautiful just the way they are.
